PROGRAM NOTE

"Songs to be Burnt II" is a work composed for the Academy Il Suono Giallo in July 2024, under the mentorship of Pierluigi Billone and Lisa Streich. This piece, written for saxophone and electronics, is part of a cycle of six pieces titled "Songs to be Burnt," which delve into the obscure universe of "Les Chants de Maldoror." While the other five pieces in the cycle explore the creation of an absence of light, aiming to view reality through a filter that distorts every aspect of life, this piece focuses on the inherent aggressivity of the book, represented both through the strength of the words used and the  ideas they evoque.
